Jennifer and Todd Calyer are the owners of the Dallas North, Collin County and Denton and NE Tarrant County SeekingSitters locations. The Calyer's have two children of their own, a 12 year old boy and a 7 year old girl and Jennifer knows firsthand how challenging it can be to find good childcare in North Dallas. After struggling to find babysitters she found SeekingSitters and opened a franchise in the Dallas area to provide quality child care to other parents.
She is like any other working mom who continually juggles both a work life and personal life. During her first child's toddler years, her good friend introduced her to the concept of SeekingSitters. After many successful years of sales and marketing for a fortune 100 company she took the leap of faith into the franchise business of SeekingSitters. Her goal is help families find the perfect sitter for each family that she serves. Jennifer has a motto in life that she has always worked by, "If you find a need, fill that need." We had just moved to Allen from New York and had no family in town, we have a 6 year old and a 3 year old and a new baby on the way at the time. We found SeekingSitters thru google and did our research. We finally signed up online after personally talking to Jennifer and a few of her office staff. They were all very professional and courteous and answered all our many questions. Once approved, we spent a little time reviewing the hundreds of Certified Babysitters in our area and setting our preferences. We had our 1st babysitting event and to say we were pleased was an understatement. The event started a few days prior with a confirmation call to coordinate what activities our kids might be interested in, the day of the event she arrived on time and immediately took over with the kids. My husband and I left the house feeling 100% confident that our sitter had everything under control and the kids were having a blast. After our much needed night out we arrived back at the house and to our surprise, the babysitter had picked up everything they had got out and a little more. We signed our sitter's timesheet, reviewed the fun time sheet discussed the activities of the night and thanked our amazing sitter for a truly great evening for both our kids and my husband and I! We used Marisa for the first time this month. Our kids LOVED her! Our children take awhile to warm up to new people but by the time we left the house (15 minutes after Marisa showed up) the kids were very chatty with her! They even asked if we could extend bedtime hour so they could play longer with Ms. Marisa! We felt completely comfortable knowing they were excited about playing with a new friend. When we returned, we were not surprised that Marisa and the kids enjoyed their time together. She was sweet, genuinely kind and most importantly, receptive to their needs. We highly recommend her! The next morning our kids couldn't wait to tell us what a fun time they had with her. My daughter asked "Can you and Dad go on a date again tonight?" Our sitter was wonderful! I was amazed by her flexibility and ingenuity. She reminded me of Mary Poppins, because she came prepared with her own bag of tricks and treats to keep my daughter occupied while confined to a hotel room during a business conference. That takes skill, considering 4 yr. olds really do not like to stay in any one place for an extended period of time. I love her and would love to have her watch my children again in the near future. - One time membership fee: $59.99. Your one-time membership fee is valid at all SeekingSitters locations.
- Pay Per Request: $15.00 per event
- Month-to-Month Subscription: $30.00 per month
- Annual Subscription, Billed Monthly: $14.00 per month
A destination charge of $10.00 per event applies for families in the extended driving area, paid directly to your sitter. This is not a mileage compensation.
